IMG 2285During the recent visit to Kosovo, CEP renewed its close ties with Kosovo Ministry of Public Administration. CEP and Kosovo have a long history of bilateral cooperation in the framework of the Slovenian Official Development Cooperation, which is financed through the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On March 10th, Kosovo Minister of Public Administration, Mr. Mahir Yagcilar met with Project Manager Ivana Boštjančič Pulko and discussed past, current and future cooperation with CEP.

Cooperation with Kosovo dates back to 2006 when CEP conducted first trainings on Effective Kosovo Public Administration and continued in 2007 with a series of trainings on Efficient and Effective Kosovo Public Services. Trainings focused on human resources management in public services, e-government and organizational structures in public services, all building a solid base for further cooperation, which has continued until 2012. Apart from that, CEP and Kosovo cooperated also on the topic of the visa liberation process with a three year project for Kosovo Border Police and Customs.

Future cooperation between the two institutions will focus on Kosovo current needs. Three main topics have been discussed, namely a unified salary system, accountability lines in public administration and reduction of administrative barriers. CEP will strive to offer Slovenian good practices and its expertise to Kosovo on the aforementioned topics.

CEP team was pleased to meet also with Slovenian Ambassador, H.E Miljan Majhen, and to discuss continued cooperation between Slovenia and Kosovo. He has been offering strong support to all CEP activities so far.
