The inaugural issue will be released in the fall of 2009 and will be announced at this year's Bled Strategic Forum, August 30–31, 2009. The central topic of this issue is "The Western Balkans: 20 Years After the End of the Cold War".
We therefore cordially invite possible contributions to the first issue of "European Perspectives". Papers should focus on reflection and contemplation of the past period and changes taking place in this region as well as on the consequences and future development of trends and phenomena stemming from those changes. We welcome contributions that focus on political, sociological, social, security, economic and legal as well as ethnic, cross-cultural, minority and cross-ethnical studies. The ability to provide an insightful analysis of the transition process and how it changed the region or a particular country or part thereof shall be deemed an important factor in assessing the contributions.
In order to enable a timely preparation of this inaugural issue, we would appreciate it if authors expressed their interest in publishing a paper, along with a short abstract (of 200 words maximum), prior to July 15, 2009. The finished manuscripts, which will undergo a double-blind peer review, are due by September 1, 2009.
