On 22nd September 2009, the Project Group for Studying the Diplomatic History of Central and South-East Europe presented the book series "Studia Diplomatica Slovenica" at the premises of the Slovenian Scientific Institute in Vienna. The book series was presented by the Center for European Perspective in cooperation with the Slovenian Scientific Institute, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Vienna and the Scientific Research Center of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU).On behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Austria, it's secretary Jaka Miklavčič welcomed all guests who gathered at the presentation. Austrian Ambassador, his excellency dr. Rudolf Angster continued by presenting an overview of the functioning of the Austrian diplomats of Slovenian origin in Austria-Hungary, based on independent research in the Vienna National Archives.
In his presentation, dr. Andrej Rahten, member of the editorial board of the book series ''Studia Diplomatica Slovenica'', described the activities of the Slovenian diplomats in multinational states, from Habsburg Monarchy to the Royal and Socialist Yugoslavia. In addition he presented the last book from the book series "Studia diplomatica Slovenica" , the biography Izidor Cankar – A Diplomat of two Yugoslavias.
The presentation was attended by the professional and academic public as well as by many of the Slovenians living in Vienna.
Next presentation of the book series "Studia Diplomatica Slovenica" will take place on 12th October 2009 in Trieste in framework of Monday's evenings of the Association of Slovenian Intelectuals. Welcomed all who fancies diplomatic history.
