CEP Programme Director, Andreja Dolničar Jeraj, welcomed Leinonen and presented the CEP's work done for the Core Course for the secondments of civilian personnel in international civilian missions.

Leinonen emphasized the significant progress that Slovenia has made through CEP preparation for the training for all civil servants of the Republic of Slovenia prior to the secondment in international civilian missions. Training is prepared by CEP in cooperation with Slovenian Police and will be held from 8 to 21 November 2010. Training is open to all civil servants and it is first of its kind in Slovenia. Leinonen was also impressed by the variety of trainees that will attend the training due to diversity of applications coming from different ministries and government bodies, as well as different job profiles.

Dolničar Jeraj also presented the call for applications, preparation work for the training and implementation plan. She expressed the belief that training will positively contribute to the number and structure of secondments of Slovenia to international civilian missions. Leinonen expressed full support for CEP in terms of training and assistance of the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU.

Leinonen is on a working visit to Slovenia regarding the preparation of the report for the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the EU in the field of development of civilian crisis management capabilities under a common security and defence policy.
