The third training module within the project "Training for public administration in BiH for Europe" started in Sarajevo on 9 of July 2012 with the preparatory meeting of representatives of responsible governmental and entity bodies, authorized veterinary laboratories for analytical methods, the representatives of UNDP, Slovenian expert dr. Vesna Cerkvenik-Flajs and Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia H.E. Andrew Grasselli.

The third training module was arranged in close cooperation with the Embassy of Republic of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food and Veterinary Administration of the Republic of Slovenia.

This project strives to enhance the veterinary inspection and laboratory work in BiH, which turned out to be the weakest point in BiH. BiH should at the end of this year manage food export to Croatia after its accession to the EU. The aim of this project's module is to prepare the laboratories for the realization of the annual plan for monitoring residues in food, protection of domestic products and export of animal products in the EU. The work with three laboratories that are closest to the process of validation or verification and accreditation of analytical methods is scheduled.

The third module will last ten working days and will be updated at a later stage with the UNDP funds. It is an area of main concern that could threaten the existence of a large number of food producers in the country in case if this issue will be neglected.
