Civilian crisis management
As an ENTRi member CEP provides trainings for individuals either going to, or already working in, crisis management missions for organisations such as the European Union (CSDP missions), United Nations (UN), Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and the African Union (AU).
Creating a positive working environment in law enforcement
A series of activities for managerial/executive-level of law enforcement officials have been implemented since 2009. Trainings and study visits for high-ranking customs officers and border, criminal and traffic police officials from Serbia and Macedonia are conducted with focus given on practical issues of leadership skills, work organisation and communication, as well as the management role in sustaining motivation, quality and professionalism on a high level. Risk assessment analysis and impact evaluation are an integral part of CEP activities.
Pre-accession assistance
Targeted trainings are designed especially for senior civil servants who represent EU candidate countries in the pre-accession negotiations with the EU and to strengthen the capacities of public administration in the field of disbursement of funds from pre-accession assistance.
Regional trade integration
A set of expert seminars and meetings was organised to boost greater regional trade integration in the Western Balkans and its cooperation with other European countries.
Efficient and effective public services
In cooperation with the Ministry of Public Administration of Republic of Kosovo, CEP prepared a training program entitled "Efficient and Effective Kosovo Public Services" aimed at enhancing the reform process within the Kosovo public sector.
Educational reform and intercultural dialogue
A series of projects on educational reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina started in 2007. The main aim of the projects was to promote educational reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina in line with modern trends and best practices in Slovenia. CEP conducted a series of debates on intercultural dialogue in a bid to promote intercultural cooperation and coexistence among ethnic communities in the Western Balkan countries.
Multilateral cooperation
As a co-organizer of the Bled Strategic Forum annual international conference, CEP contributes to the promotion of a high-level strategic dialogue on the key issues facing Europe and the 21st century world. CEP also organized a series of smaller multilateral events (seminars, conferences, round tables).
Research and publishing activities
The European Perspectives is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, issued twice a year. The primary aim of the journal is to provide a comprehensive source of analytical and theoretical articles in the field of defence and security, international relations, international law, economy and public administration focusing on the region of South East Europe (Western Balkans, Albania and Turkey) and the countries of the European Neighbourhood Policy. The Studia Diplomatica Slovenica is a collection of books dealing with diplomatic history in South East Europe.
Twinning projects
CEP leads a consortium of Slovenian partner institutions responsible for the implementation of the 2009 IPA twinning project on harmonization and implementation of regulations of labour inspection and safety at work in Montenegro.
