Following the initiative of the European Union Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUSR), CEP co-organizes a study visit in Slovenia for five representatives of Bosnian non-governmental organizations between 28 and 30 June.
The office of the EUSR recently organized a series of debates regarding different aspects of BiH integration into the EU, together with 5 non-governmental organizations, associated in the PRO-EU TOWNS NETWORK. The debates resulted in the list of recommendations to the BiH's Prime Minister. Organizations taking part in the visit are Vesta from Tuzla, which deals with citizens' rights, supports civic engagement and promotes participative media; Nerda from Tuzla, a regional development agency for the North-East BiH, responsible for strengthening, coordination and promotion of economic development of North East Bosnia and Herzegovina; Don from Prijedor, which is an association that aims to include the citizens into the social and economic processes; Kyodo from Sarajevo, active in the field of civil rights protection, environment protection and ecological awareness and a Civil Society Promotion Center from Sarajevo that promotes and strengthens citizens' action, civil society and democracy building in BiH.
The aim of the visit is to exchange experience with Slovenian governmental and non-governmental organizations, active in capacity building related to the EU integration processes. After a meeting with the representatives of the Centre for European Perspective, the visitors from BiH will also visit the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Youth, SLOGA – Slovenian Global Action, Focus – Association for Sustainable Development, Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Slovenia, CNVOS – Centre for Information Service, Co-operation and Development of NGOs and Slovenian Philanthropy - an Association for the Promotion of Voluntary Work.
