Centre for European Perspective hosted an inaugural meeting of the new scientific journal "European Perspectives" editorial board. Board members discussed the thematic scope of the journal, the first issue and the work of the editorial board.Members of the journal Editorial Board are most prominent scholars and experts in the field of defence and security, international relations, international law, economy, public administration, human rights and development aid from Slovenia and the region of South East Europe: Dr. Matej Accetto, Dr. Mustafa Cerić (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Dr. Vojin Dimitrijević (Serbia), Dr. Klemen Grošelj, Dr. Savo Kentera (Montenegro), Dr. Milan Jazbec, Erik Kopač, Dr. Andrej Kumar, Dr. Vladimir Prebilič, Dr. Albert Rakipi (Albania), Dr. Erwin Schmidl (Austria), Dr. Vasilka Sancin, Dr. Uroš Svete, Dr. Gregor Virant, Dr. Biljana Vankovska (Macedonia), Dr. Katja Zajc Kejžar, Dr. Vlatko Cvrtila (Croatia), Dr. Jernej Zupančič, Dr. Milan Zver and Dr. Mitja Žagar.
Scientific journal "European Perspectives" will cover the thematic areas of security, EU enlargement, good governance and economic and social development. It will focus on countries of broader South East Europe region (Western Balkans, Albania, Turkey) and on countries of the European Neighbourhood Policy. The primary aim of the journal is to stimulate scientific dialogue in the spirit of the European perspective, to encourage expert research within above mentioned disciplines, to offer a forum for exchange of views and to build a scientific network in the region. By its comprehensive scope the journal represents a contact point for exchanging of in-depth studies and research and at the same time an important scientific source for experts and policy-makers from the South East Europe region and EU. With its content the journal would like to contribute to democratic and sustainable development and to promote and enhance the European integration process in the areas of South East Europe and European Neighbourhood Policy.
CEP invited all CEP Advisory Board members to become members of Scientific Journal International Editorial Board. Members of CEP Advisory Board are: Goran Svilanović, Dr. Javier Solana, Victor Jackovich, Tom Harkin, Dr. Giuliano Amato, Prof. Timothy Garton Ash, Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski, Dr. Erhard Busek, Kristiina Ojuland, Zhang Deguang, Dr. Murat Bilhan, Ban Ki-moon, Jan Petersen and Hans-Dietrich Genscher.
The scientific journal will be issued twice a year in English language. The publisher will be Centre for European Perspective and the first number will be issued in the second half of 2009.
