A five day training for the Traffic Police of the Republic of Serbia titled "Creating a Positive Working Environment for High Quality and Professional Work" organised by the Centre for European Perspective (CEP) in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Slovenia started in Belgrade today.
Mr Dragan Marković, State Secretary of Serbian ministry of internal affairs, opened today's event by stressing that Government of Serbia in general supports fight against corruption whereas these kind of trainings certainly contribute to capacity building and higher standards at work. Better working environment in the long run leads to less criminal and corruption. He acknowledged good partnership with Slovenian colleagues by organizing similar type of trainings already for criminal and border police and looks forward to future cooperation.
Andreja Dolničar Jeraj, Programme Director of Centre for European Perspective explained that the trainings are part of the development package by the Republic of Slovenia to the Western Balkan countries as a result of a genuine Slovenian support to the Republic of Serbia in the field of law enforcement. She especially emphasized good cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia, which began in 2009. Furthermore she explained that the aim of the training is mainly that Slovenian and Serbian colleagues exchange their working experience and also stressed the special emphasis of the question of leadership.
27 high representatives of the traffic police of the Republic of Serbia are taking part in the training that will involve many practical work and case studies in the framework of leadership skills, values, communication and motivation, strategic thinking, positive working environment, personal skills and much more.
