The four days pre-deployment training course Kosovo is starting today at Jable Castle. The training will equip 22 participants from 14 countries with the essential knowledge and information necessary to be active mission and team members and to operate smoothly in the respective area of assignment in Kosovo.
The course will be implemented in a participant-active way, drawing on participants' professional experience, situating it in the Kosovo context. Trainees, mostly selected to be deployed within EULEX mission will take part in the interactive lectures and exercises, covering three modules: Introduction to Civilian Crisis management of the EU, EULEX profile and Kosovo profile. Participants will therefore lear about the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), Kosovo historical and political overview, Kosovo multicultural environment, EULEX approach and components, other missions and organizations in Kosovo (EU family, UN family, KFOR, etc.). Overall 10 trainers from Slovenia, Hungary, Kosovo, EULEX, KFOR will take part in the training.
The project is organized by the Centre for European Perspective (CEP) in the framework of the Europe's New Training Initiative for Civilian Crisis Management (ENTRi), which is funded by the European Commission (80%) and co-funded by its 13 implementing partners.
