Centre for European Perspective's project proposal was selected to receive financial support from the International Visegrad Fund within the Small Grants for the project “Academic debate on Slovenia's role in Visegrad Group”. The project will be implemented with partners from all V4 countries, namely Central European Policy Institute, The Centre for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Democracy, Institute of East-Central Europe, Institute for European Policy Europeum and three academics, Tomas Strazay, Marek Lenč and Maria Beresova.
Slovenia and V4 Group have in the frame of EU membership developed good economic and international relations; moreover they share similar objectives regarding the Western Balkans - ensuring stability, democracy, economic prosperity and regional cooperation. Therefore it is important to nurture these relations and explore different possibilities for further joint actions.
Since 2006, CEP publishes a prominent Journal “European Perspectives” twice a year, which is indexed in all relevant international databases. In this regard a special edition of Journal focusing on V4 development and regional cooperation among all countries of Central Europe will be prepared. Academics from all V4 countries and Slovenia will prepare papers, focusing on future Slovenia’s role in the V4 Group, considering potential economic and political relations between the countries.
All authors will be also invited to Slovenia to the final event to present their views on the issues discussed in the papers at the round table.
