Training »Protection of Children in the Judicial System of the Republic of Srpska – Interview Techniques and Cooperation with the Media.« finished today in Bosnia and Hercegovina in Laktaši, which was organized by Centre for European Perspective in cooperation with the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska.
Two workshops were conducted in the framework of the training, one conducted in April and one that finished today. This workshop was attended by nearly 40 experts from the Republic of Srpska, who in their work encounter children (as a perpetrators, victims or witnesses). Among the participants, majority were criminal investigators, employees of Social Work Centres, Health Centre in Banja Luka and also employees of the office of ombusdsman in Ministry of the Internal Affairs of Republic of Srpska.
The main topics of this training were the preparation for an interview with the child, the course of the interview itself and ways of communicating with children. We discussed the most suitable premises for the interview, the duration of the interview and the methods of questioning. The focus of the second day was the cooperation with the experts for the media, where it is necessary to find balance between the public’s right to information and the protection of personal data involved in the processes. In a simulation, participants learned how difficult it is to communicate with the journalists, who would like to gain information that you do not want to give in order to protect those involved.
The project is part of the CEP program activities funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the fund for international development cooperation.
ZAŠČITA OTROK V PRAVOSODNEM SISTEMU REPUBLIKE SRBSKE - TEHNIKE VODENJA RAZGOVOROV IN SODELOVANJE Z MEDIJI
