The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and the Members of the eRegions on the New eAmber and New eSilk Roads Think Tank together with the Centre for European Perspective (CEP) are organising the Regional Meeting of Think Tanks of China and Central and Eastern European Countries in the framework of the cooperation program of the Think Tanks from Central and Eastern European Countries and China. The Meeting will be held at Castle Jable on 15 March 2016.
Historically, the term Silk Road denotes a network of ancient trade and cultural routes connecting China and Central and South Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Since its very beginning, the spirit of the Silk Road has always been peace, cooperation, openness, inclusiveness, mutual learning and win-win progress. The purpose of Regional Meeting of Think Tanks of China and Central and Eastern European Countries is to positively contribute to further strengthening and developing relations among countries, to create opportunities for synergies between “One Belt and One Road Initiative” and “16+1 Initiative”, and define what challenges and opportunities lie ahead.
Special guest and keynote speaker of the meeting will be H.E. Mr. Liu Haixing, Assistant Foreign Minister and Secretary-General of the Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries – CEEC Secretariat, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

Srečanje think-tank institucij: eRegije na novi eJantarjevi in novi eSvilni cesti
Ministrstvo za zunanje zadeve Republike Slovenije in člani eRegions on the New eAmber and New eSilk Roads Think Tank skupaj s Centrom za evropsko prihodnost (CEP) organizirajo regionalni sestanek think-tank institucij Kitajske ter držav Srednje in Vzhodne Evrope v okviru programa sodelovanja think-tank institucij iz Kitajske ter Srednje in Vzhodne Evrope. Srečanje bo potekalo 15. marca 2016 na gradu Jable.
V preteklosti je izraz Svilna cesta označeval mrežo antičnih trgovskih in kulturnih poti, ki so povezovale Kitajsko, Srednjo in Južno Azijo, Evropo in Bližnji vzhod. Svilna cesta je bila tako od nekdaj sinonim za mir, sodelovanje, odprtost, vključenost, vzajemno učenje in skupni napredek. Glavni namen regionalnega srečanja je zato pozitivno prispevati k nadaljnji krepitvi in razvoju odnosov med državami, ustvarjanju priložnosti za sinergije med " One Belt and One Road" iniciativo in "16 + 1" iniciativo in hkrati opredeliti prihodnje izzive in priložnosti.
Posebni gost in slavnostni govornik na srečanju bo Nj. eksc. g. Liu Haixing, pomočnik zunanjega ministra in generalni sekretar za sodelovanje med Kitajsko in državami Srednje in Vzhodne Evrope (CEEC Secretariat), Ministrstva za zunanje zadeve Kitajske.
