Member of the European Parliament, Ms. Tanja Fajon visited CEP project in Albania “Assistance to the Albanian Municipalities in the preparation of the EU and other international projects”

IMG 0191Member of the European Parliament, Ms. Tanja Fajon visited the participants in on the project “Assistance to the Albanian Municipalities in the preparation of the Eu and other international projects”. The project of the CEP in cooperation with the US development agency USAID is carried out with the aim to prepare the Albanian Municipalities for the preparation and implementation of projects at the local and regional level, which will be financed from the EU funds and other international organisations. Programs of European territorial cooperation were presented, where Albanian and Slovenian partners can jointly raise funds, exchange experiences, and best practices.

Centre for European Perspective in cooperation with the US development agency USAID launched training for representatives of the Albanian municipalities in the field of preparation of the EU and other projects

IMG 0030In the framework of the International Development Cooperation of the Republic of Slovenia and in cooperation with the US development agency USAID, Centre for European Perspective started with the implementation of the first four-day training workshop for the representatives of Albanian Municipalities and representatives of regional agencies in the preparation of European and other projects. The focus of the training is on the preparation of the projects at local and regional level. The process of integration of Albania into the EU currently represents the most important challenge and priority of Albania and local government has a significant importance in the promotion of the principles and implementation of EU standards at local level. The first workshop is devoted to the presentation of various financing options and understanding and implementation of the project cycle and project design. Special attention is devoted to the designing of the projects that will be supported by a concrete Slovenian experience. The workshop is attended by 24 participants coming from the Prime Ministry, the Ministry for European Integration, regional agencies and municipalities Korca, Vlora, Kolonje, Fier, Patos, Berat, Lushnje, Kucove, Shkodra and non-governmental organizations.

The first part of the project Strengthening the Independence of Electoral Bodies in Albania is successfully concluded

Farewell to Mr Genscher

DOG030872Former German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher passed away. He led the German diplomacy at the time when Slovenia gained its independence. He was also the member of the Advisory Board of the Centre for European Perspective. He was 89 years old.

NATO and EU faced with current security issues

Consultation in relation to the preparation of Slovenian authorities to the upcoming EU and NATO summits


On Tuesday, 5th of April, on Jable castle, a consultation meeting will be held in relation to the preparation for the upcoming EU and NATO summits. Meeting, that was created with cooperation between Euro-Atlantic Council of Slovenia and Centre for European perspective, will start at 1pm and will be opened by Dr Gorazd Justinek, Executive Director of CEP and Dr Anton Bebler, President of EASS.
Further on, three panels will be held. First one, called “Positions and proposals on Declaration and other NATO Summit conclusions”, will be moderated by Dr Bebler, and will include following panelists: Mr Primož Šavc, general director of Directorate for Defense policy, MORS and Ms Gaja Peric, Head of Sector for NATO and international operations, MFA.

Conference ''Migrations and human security'' as part of the Slovenian preparations for the EU Global Strategy
