In the year 2016 Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the Slovenian International Development Cooperation Fund finances a project for Macedonia, which aims at building capacity for successful investigation of corruption cases. The project is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and Police of the Republic of Slovenia as well as the State Prosecution Office for prosecution of organised crime and corruption.

CEP has on 29th of November participated at a first Periodic review meeting of IECEU project, where Consortium members analyzed and debated the success and achievements of the project so far with external experts of the Research Executive Agency.

Centre for European Perspective (CEP) has started an intensive four-day Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) at the Police Training Centre Gotenica. Training is organized in close cooperation with Slovenian Police and Slovenian Armed Forces and will conclude on Friday evening.

In the scope of the CEP project “Assistance to Montenegro in Negotiation on Accession to the EU-2016” consultant Mr. Radovan Tavzes from 4 -5 October conducted a workshop for civil servants of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism and the of Environment Agency for Chapter 27 Environment and Climate Change for the area of industrial pollution and waste management.

On 14 October 2016 Centre for European Perspective has successfully completed the second part of the project "Strengthening the independence of Electoral Bodies" that continues to provide support to the electoral law reform process in Albania based on OSCE recommendations and recommendations prepared by CEP on the basis of two workshops.

In the scope of the project “Assistance to Montenegro in negotiations on accession to the EU-2016”, Mr Tomaž Rotovnik, advisor of the Bank of Slovenia, prepared a technical assistance training for the personnel of Central Bank of Montenegro on internal governance and risk management in banks.

Centre for European Perspective (CEP) will start with the second phase on strengthening the independence of the election management bodies on 14 October in Tirana, Albania in the scope of the International Development Cooperation of the Republic of Slovenia. Strengthening of democratic institutions is of upmost importance for Albania as an EU candidate country. In this regard, the electoral system presents on of the cornerstones of a democratic and legal state.

On 26-27 September 2016, a workshop took place in Serbia in the framework of the Slovenian Development Cooperation with Republic of Serbia. With the Slovenian support, during the workshop, participants produced action plan for test application and draft action plan, which will outline the development of the application for monitoring of financial flows of public administration, and define cooperation and contribution of individual institutions in the development of the application.

Montenegro has to, in a period of adaptation of legislation in EU accession negotiations on Chapter 27 – Environment and climate change, pay special attention to industrial pollution and waste management.
