Assistance for Montenegro in the negotiations on accession to the EU in 2015 Chapter 9 – Financial Services

Montenegro has to, in a period of adaptation of legislation for accession to the EU in Chapter 9 – »Financial Services« pay special attention to the internal and corporate governance in a framework of a Directive CRV IV. (Basel III).

In the framework of project “Assistance to Montenegro in negotiations on accession to the EU-2015” training for staff of the Central Bank of Montenegro, will be held on Wednesday 4 November 2015 in Podgorica.

The main purpose of the assistance of the Republic of Slovenia is primarily to present the experience of the Republic of Slovenia in Chapter 9 and representation of the current European legislation, in particular Directive CRV IV. (Basel III). In this context, corporate governance in banks, corporate culture, and the composition of management bodies, the functions of internal controls, the revised regulatory rules and methodology of the ECB in the field of corporate governance will be presented. In particular, Slovenia’s experience in transposing this Directive into national law will be presented.

Slovenian expert Tomaž Rotovnik, from the Bank of Slovenia will conduct counselling within the project of the CEP.

The project is part of the CEP program activities funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of funds for international development cooperation.

Academic Debate on Slovenia's Role in Visegrad Group

which will be held at Jable Castle (Grajska cesta 1, 1234 Mengeš) on 11 November 2015 at 12:00.

 

Slovenia and V4 Group have in the frame of EU membership developed good economic and international relations; moreover, they share similar objectives regarding the Western Balkans - ensuring stability, democracy, economic prosperity and regional cooperation. Therefore it is important to nurture these relations and explore different possibilities for further joint actions, especially also in the light of the recent events of the migration crisis.


In this light, a special edition of Scientific Journal European Perspectives, focusing on V4 development and regional cooperation among all countries of Central Europe was prepared and will be presented at this event. Authors from all V4 countries and others have prepared their views, which will be presented at this round table and opened by H. E. Ambassador of Poland H.E. Mr Paweł Czerwiński and Prof. Milan Jazbec, Editor in Chief. Round table will be moderated by Ms. Katja Geršak.
