The aim of the project, which began with a study visit in November 2013, is strengthening of Kosovo institutions in the field of integrated border management in accordance with EU directives. Five representatives of Slovenian border police management will present Slovenian best practices in the field of efficient implementation of border control, cooperation among different actors in the framework of IBM, cross border cooperation and illegal migration, all topics which belong into priority areas for fulfilment of demands set in the European Commission's Roadmap for visa liberalisation for Kosovo. Kosovo has achieved a great progress in this field in the recent years, therefore the focus of the training will be on the practical implementation of the already adopted legal framework. Training will be practical in nature since experts will advise the participants based on the practical presentation of border surveillance activities at the border crossing with Macedonia (Hani i Eelezit).
