CEP representative attended an ENTRi meeting in Berlin

The second phase of ENTRi began in April 2013 and is set to run until March 2016. ENTRi is a unique capacity-building programme that was initiated in early 2011. The main focus lies on the preparation and training of civilians that are either going to or already working in crisis management missions worldwide. It is funded by the European Commission (90%) and co-funded by its 13 implementing partners, led by the Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF) in Berlin. CEP as a Slovenian representative in the ENTRi consortium attended the first partner meeting of the second phase in Berlin on 23 May to discuss the forthcoming activities within the consortium.

In the framework of the twinning project a delegation from Montenegro visited CEP

A delegation from Montenegrin Administration for Inspection Affairs led by Vesna Simović, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, visited CEP today. The delegation is on a five day visit to Slovenia. The aim of the visit is to get acquainted with the work of the Slovenian Labour Inspectorate.

Working visit in BiH

20120511-02In the framework of the project "European Affairs Training for Public Administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina" an expert from Slovenian Veterinary Administration will travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina for a three-day visit. The purpose of his cooperation with the Bosnian authorities is to review and coordinate their phyto-sanitary legislation with European legislation. Bosnian entities have already prepared regulations, which are not always in line with European standards. The aim of this working visit is to unify the regulations in order to facilitate and also increase export from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union, especially after July 1st 2013, when Croatia is expected to join the EU.

Strengthening the capacities of the Albanian institutions for disbursement of funds from Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA)

IMG 3181Centre for European Perspective (CEP) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Tirana prepared project for Strengthening the capacities of the Albanian Institutions for Disbursement of funds from Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA). Training of Albanian representatives was carried out as a study visit at the CEP premises in Jablje castle between 12. and 16. November 2012. Training was attended by 11 public servants – representatives of local authorities (municipalities and associations of local government).

Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) for members of civilian crisis management missions successfully implemented

DSCN3988Centre for European Perspective (CEP) has conducted its first pilot HEAT training within the ENTRi framework in the week between 19 and 23 of November at the Police Training Centre Gotenica. It was organized with immense support by the Ministry of the Interior of Republic of Slovenia, Slovenian Police and Slovenian Armed Forces. Junior implementing partner of the training was Crisis Management Centre (CMC) Finland, while the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) from Sweden and Danish Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) provided valuable observers, mentors and a trainer.
