The Centre for European Perspective (CEP) and Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) have hosted a five-day German Diplomatic College alumni meeting in Slovenia. In the framework of the meeting foreign diplomats were acquainted with project activities of CEP, while the Slovenian MFA presented the current priorities of Slovenian foreign policy.

Centre for European Perspective (CEP) in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Administration of the Republic of Kosovo is hosting a study visit of seven senior officials from the Republic of Kosovo. The Personnel directors of the Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Public Administration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kosovo are being informed about Slovenian legislation regarding the internal organization and job classification system in public administration and are drawing up concrete proposals for the transfer of good practices into Kosovo public administration.

On Wednesday, 21 April, and on Thursday, 22 April, a series of events took place in Brčko, Bosnia and Herzegovina to celebrate the Day of School of Vaso Pelagić Gymnasium and commemorate the 60th anniversary of this educational institution. The main event was the Fair of Resemblance, which was the implementation of the competition winning project from the Intercultural Challenge competition, organized by CEP.

A Steering Board meeting was held in Zagreb on 29 and 30 January of the ESDP Training Programme for SAP countries. Beside Slovenia, several other countries are participating in the programme, namely Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. This year Slovenia is acting as a central point of contact and is represented by the Centre for European Perspective (CEP) in the programme. The meeting was attended by CEP Programme Director, Andreja Dolničar Jeraj and CEP Project Manager, Ivana Boštjančič Pulko.

In December 2008 Centre for European Perspective in cooperation with Slovenian government and Turkish Kültür University organised a two-day expert seminar »Movement of Goods in the Area of the EU, EFTA, Turkey and CEFTA: Facilitation of Cooperation Potential«. Overview of the trade cooperation between the countries concerned has shown a need for further improvement and facilitation of cooperation in trade. Presented facts and analyses resulted in Conclusions and Recommendations which represent basis for the continuation of the work started.

Between 16 and 17 March, the Centre for European Perspective hosted a Meeting on Intercultural Dialogue in the Western Balkans. The main aim of the meeting was to formulate concrete suggestions and strategies for future activities in this field in the Western Balkans with the emphasis on education and media.

At its session of 19 March 2009 the Government of the Republic of Slovenia has released from position previous members of the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board of the Centre for European Perspective and appointed new ones.

Centre for European Perspective hosted an inaugural meeting of the new scientific journal "European Perspectives" editorial board. Board members discussed the thematic scope of the journal, the first issue and the work of the editorial board.

Minister of Public Services of the Republic of Kosovo Prof. Dr. Arsim Bajrami visited Centre for European Perspective, where he was welcomed by CEP Executive Director Elvin Klobas. Minister Bajrami opened 6th Training Course for Kosovo Public Services employees and emphasized that Slovenian experiences are very important for the process of establishing the Kosovo Public Services.

The Centre for European Perspective and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina organized the Second Module of the ESDP Training Programme for SAP Countries in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina from May 17 to May 22, 2009.
